Those advocating the homosexual agenda celebrate this month of June as “gay pride month”. As Catholics, we dedicate the month of June to the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, also known as the Most Holy Eucharist. The two celebrations could not be further apart from one another. Those advocating for the “gay agenda” are celebrating disordered and selfish passions, while as Catholics, we celebrate the selfless love of Jesus Christ for each one of us in giving us the Sacrament of His Body and Blood. One is about fulfilling one’s own personal, disordered desires, while the other is about giving of Oneself to another in real, sacrificial love. Those pushing the first “agenda” are seen as being “courageous” and “heroic” in “coming out”, while Jesus Himself is viewed as an “outsider” – someone whose Name is even forbidden to be used in some places. As Catholics, let us pray for those with same sex attractions and the struggles they may have in overcoming their passions and disordered desires. Let us also pray for ourselves, that we may allow the grace of God to help us with our own disordered passions and desires that can lead us to sin. us look to the true model of courage and selflessness – Jesus Christ, who continues to feed us with His Own Flesh and Blood. May His Selfless Love inspire and motivate each one of us, so that we may first give our lives to Jesus Christ, and then in turn, even give our lives for one another!
