CORPUS CHRISTI

As Catholics, we celebrate this Sunday the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.  This belief is at the very center of what we believe as Catholics.  For the past almost 2000 years, we have taken Jesus at His word, “Do this in remembrance of Me”, and celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.  Jesus Himself celebrated the 1st Catholic Mass at the Last Supper, surrounded by His 12 Apostles.  Not only does Jesus desire to feed us with His Own Body and Blood, but He also remains with us in the Tabernacles of our Catholic Churches, fulfilling His promise to us that He will remain with us always, even onto the end of time.  Let us always treasure this great GIFT that we have been given of Jesus’ Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist.  Receiving Him at least once a week at Mass, spending time w/ Him in prayer outside of the Mass, and maybe even making a weekly commitment to Eucharistic Adoration, are just some of the ways that we can best treasure this GIFT of Jesus’ Presence in the Most Holy Eucharist.  Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, pray for us!
